The Great Rewiring: Power, Speed and Legitimacy in a Changing World
Susan M. "Sue" Gordon, a corporate director and former principal deputy director of U.S. National Intelligence and career senior officer in the CIA and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, joined the Council to discuss the world's "Great Rewiring". Gordon currently serves as a director of State Street, CACI International, BlackSky Technology, Security Scorecard, Pallas Advisors and trustee of MITRE Corporation.
Public and private sector leaders are globally navigating the impact of broader accessibility to high-speed technology, complex security demands due to digital connectedness, and the abundance of digital knowledge. This Great Rewiring takes on a special interest as world leadership, alliances and trust are shifting. Within this backdrop, countries are increasingly open to new options when making decisions about national and economic security. While cybersecurity remains an imperative focus for public and private sectors, there is no “silver bullet” for solutions. Private/public partnerships and innovation remain key aspects in addressing societal needs.
